Sophia Carr-Gomm is a casting director, director and lecturer, with a background in acting, having trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BA Acting) and worked professionally across BBC, ITV and theatre, including the Citizens Theatre and Southwark Playhouse.

Drawing on her experience across performance, casting and filmmaking, Sophia founded Back in the Room to provide a dedicated space for professional and emerging professional actors to continue developing their craft. Recognising the need for consistent, high-quality training opportunities within the UK industry, she has created a space where actors can stay creatively engaged, sharpen their skills and approach auditions with confidence.

Her classes combine practical industry insight with creative exploration, encouraging actors to tune in, take risks, play, experiment and evolve in their work.
Above all, Back in the Room offers a supportive, energising community where actors can invest in their craft, maintain momentum and find connection during the often unpredictable periods between jobs.
